Vanilla Bean Buttercream
Vanilla bean buttercream made with real vanilla bean and butter for a smooth, fluffy, bakery-style frosting.

Ingredients

unsalted butter
softened

–4 cups powdered sugar

–4 tablespoons heavy cream or whole milk

tablespoon
vanilla bean paste or scraped vanilla bean

salt
Instructions
Place softened butter in a mixing bowl and beat for 2–3 minutes until pale and fluffy.
Reduce speed and gradually add powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing until combined.
Add vanilla bean paste and salt and mix until incorporated.
Add heavy cream or milk one tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
Increase speed to medium-high and beat for 2–3 minutes until light and smooth.
Use immediately or store for later use.
Notes
Butter must be fully softened. Rewhip buttercream after refrigeration to restore texture.
