Traditional Loubieh Bi Zeit

Traditional Loubieh Bi Zeit with tender green beans, tomatoes, and olive oil, a simple and flavorful Lebanese dish.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb green beans trimmed
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups tomatoes chopped or canned
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Cook onion until softened.
  • Add garlic and cook briefly.
  • Stir in tomatoes and tomato paste.
  • Cook until mixture thickens slightly.
  • Add green beans and stir to coat.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Cover and cook on low heat for 25–30 minutes.
  • Stir occasionally until beans are tender.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Use fresh green beans for best texture.
Cook slowly for deeper flavor.
Serve with bread or rice.
