Texas Sheet Cake Cookies

Texas Sheet Cake Cookies with soft chocolate cookie base and warm cocoa icing poured on top.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • Chocolate Icing
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 6 tablespoons milk
  • 3 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Melt butter, water, and cocoa. Mix sugar, eggs, and vanilla, then add cocoa mixture. Stir in flour, baking soda, salt, and milk. Scoop dough and bake 8–10 minutes. Prepare icing by melting butter, cocoa, and milk, then whisk in powdered sugar and vanilla. Spoon icing over warm cookies.

Notes

Ice cookies while warm for best texture. Do not overbake.
