Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground breakfast sausage
  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough or puff pastry
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg for egg wash

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease and allow to cool slightly. In a mixing bowl, combine cooked sausage, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until evenly mixed. Unroll crescent dough or puff pastry and cut into squares. Place 1–2 tablespoons of filling in the center of each square. Fold dough over filling and press edges firmly to seal. Arrange seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Beat the egg and brush lightly over the tops of each bundle. Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Do not overfill to prevent leakage. Seal edges tightly before baking. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days and reheat in the oven at 350°F for 8–10 minutes. Unbaked bundles can be frozen for up to 2 months.
