Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground breakfast sausage
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese freshly shredded
  • 2 cups baking mix such as Bisquick
  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 –2 tablespoons milk if needed

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, baking mix, softened cream cheese, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly using your hands until evenly combined. If mixture feels dry, add 1–2 tablespoons of milk to help bind. Roll mixture into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked through. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Use room-temperature cream cheese for easier mixing. Avoid overmixing to prevent dense texture. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days and reheat in the oven at 350°F for 8–10 minutes. Unbaked sausage balls can be frozen for up to 2 months.
