Pumpkin Honey Bun Cake

Pumpkin honey bun cake with soft texture, cinnamon swirl, and sweet glaze. Easy fall dessert recipe.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 box 15.25 oz yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 –4 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for glaze

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Mix cake mix, pumpkin puree, eggs, oil, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Pour half the batter into the dish.
  • Mix brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over the batter.
  • Add remaining batter on top and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until set.
  • Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for glaze.
  • Drizzle glaze over warm cake.
  • Serve and enjoy.

Notes

Do not overbake to keep cake moist.
Let cool slightly before glazing.
Customize with nuts or spices if desired.
