Potato Pancake with Beef and Cheese

Ingredients
  

  • 4 medium potatoes grated
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ cup onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • ½ teaspoon salt for filling
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper for filling
  • 3 tablespoons oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Cook ground beef in a skillet until browned.
  • Add onion and cook until softened, then add garlic and cook briefly.
  • Season filling with salt and pepper and set aside.
  • In a bowl, mix grated potatoes, egg, flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Place a portion of potato mixture in the pan and flatten into a pancake.
  • Add beef and cheese on top, then cover with more potato mixture.
  • Cook for 4 to 5 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  • Repeat with remaining ingredients and serve hot.

Notes

Squeeze excess moisture from potatoes for better texture.
Do not overfill to keep pancakes intact.
Serve with sour cream or dipping sauce.
