Pepper Steak "Beef & Brandy" Hand Pies

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef or diced steak
  • 2 sheets puff pastry
  • ½ cup onion chopped
  • 1 cup bell peppers sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons brandy
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg for egg wash

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cook beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned.
  • Add onion and bell peppers and cook until softened.
  • Stir in garlic and cook briefly.
  • Add beef broth, brandy, and Worcestershire sauce, then simmer until thickened.
  • Season with salt and black pepper and let filling cool slightly.
  • Roll out puff pastry and cut into squares or circles.
  • Place filling in the center, fold over, and seal edges with a fork.
  • Brush with beaten egg.
  • Bake for 18 to 22 minutes until golden brown.
  • Cool slightly and serve.

Notes

Let filling cool before assembling to avoid soggy pastry.
Do not overfill to keep pies sealed.
Chill assembled pies briefly for better structure.
