Patti LaBelle’s Macaroni and Cheese Recipe

Classic baked mac and cheese made rich with eggs, milk, and layered cheese.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 2 cups shredded Colby cheese
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika

Instructions
 

  • Cook macaroni and toss with butter. Whisk eggs, milk, cream, and seasoning. Layer pasta and cheese in dish. Pour custard over. Bake at 350°F for 45–50 minutes until set and golden.
