Mini Grilled Cheese Hawaiian Rolls

Mini grilled cheese Hawaiian rolls baked with melted cheese and a buttery garlic topping. Easy, kid-friendly comfort food.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 package 12 rolls Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 6 –8 slices cheese American, cheddar, or Colby Jack
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly grease a baking dish.
  • Slice the entire slab of rolls horizontally without separating them.
  • Place the bottom half into the baking dish.
  • Layer cheese evenly over the rolls.
  • Place the top half of the rolls back on.
  • In a bowl, mix melted butter, garlic powder, salt, and parsley.
  • Brush butter mixture evenly over the tops of the rolls.
  • Cover loosely with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Remove foil and bake an additional 5–7 minutes until tops are golden.
  • Cool slightly, separate, and serve warm.

Notes

Do not overbake. Covering first keeps the rolls soft and melty inside.
