Microwave Sunny-Side-Up Egg

Microwave Sunny-Side-Up Egg Recipe with a perfectly runny yolk and soft white in under a minute.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp water
  • ½ tsp butter or oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Lightly grease a microwave-safe dish with butter or oil.
  • Add water to the dish.
  • Crack egg into the dish carefully, keeping yolk intact.
  • Microwave for 40–60 seconds depending on desired doneness.
  • Check after 40 seconds and continue cooking in 5–10 second intervals if needed.
  • Remove carefully and season with salt and pepper.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

Pierce yolk lightly to prevent bursting.
Cook in short intervals for best texture.
Use a shallow dish for even cooking.
