Meatball & Mashed Potato Bake

Meatball and mashed potato bake layered with tomato sauce and melted cheese, baked until warm and comforting.

Servings 6 servings

Ingredients
  

  • 24 cooked Italian meatballs
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • 2 cups marinara or tomato sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Grease a baking dish with olive oil.
  • Spread mashed potatoes evenly across the bottom of the dish.
  • Arrange cooked meatballs over the mashed potatoes.
  • Pour marinara sauce evenly over the meatballs.
  • Cover loosely with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  • Remove foil and sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.
  • Bake uncovered for 20 to 25 minutes until cheese melts and turns lightly golden.
  • Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley.

Notes

Use warm mashed potatoes for easier spreading. Fully cook frozen meatballs before assembling.
