20 oz can crushed pineapple (with juice)

granulated sugar

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Prepare cake mix using eggs, oil, and water according to package directions.
Pour batter into dish and bake for 25 to 30 minutes until done.
While cake is warm, poke holes across the surface using a fork.
In a saucepan, combine crushed pineapple with juice and granulated sugar. Bring to a gentle boil and simmer for a few minutes.
Pour pineapple mixture evenly over the warm cake and let it soak.
Allow cake to cool completely.
In a bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth, then add powdered sugar and mix well.
Fold in whipped topping and vanilla extract until combined.
Spread topping over cooled cake and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours before serving.
Notes
Pour pineapple mixture while cake is warm for best absorption.
Refrigerate before serving for best texture.
