Seasoning Recipe For Tasty Burritos

Insanely Easy Burrito Seasoning

Homemade burrito seasoning made with chili powder, cumin, and garlic. Easy spice blend for flavorful burritos and tacos.
Prep Time 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper optional

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine chili powder, ground cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if using. Mix thoroughly until evenly combined. To use, brown 1 pound of ground meat in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess grease. Sprinkle the seasoning evenly over the cooked meat. Add 1/4 cup water and stir well. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until the liquid reduces and the seasoning coats the meat evenly. Use immediately in burritos, tacos, or bowls.

Notes

Add water when cooking to help distribute seasoning evenly. Adjust cayenne for desired heat level. Store leftover seasoning in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.
