Ingredients

softened

brown sugar

granulated sugar

large egg

vanilla extract

all-purpose flour

baking soda

chocolate chips
Instructions
Cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
Add egg and vanilla and mix until combined.
Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix just until combined.
Fold in chocolate chips.
Chill dough for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness and cut with heart-shaped cookie cutter.
Place cookies on baking sheets 2 inches apart.
Bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are set and centers are soft.
Cool briefly, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
Chill dough to prevent spreading. Do not overbake to keep cookies soft.
