Grilled Cheese Patty Melts

Grilled cheese patty melts with juicy beef, melted cheese, and crispy bread. Easy comfort sandwich recipe.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 slices bread
  • 8 slices cheddar or Swiss cheese
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • ½ cup French fried onions
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Cook sliced onions in a skillet until caramelized and set aside.
  • Season ground beef with salt and pepper and form into patties.
  • Cook patties until browned and cooked through.
  • Butter one side of each bread slice.
  • Place bread butter-side down in a skillet and add cheese, beef patty, onions, and fried onions.
  • Top with another slice of cheese and bread, butter-side up.
  • Cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden and cheese is melted.
  • Serve hot.

Notes

Use medium heat for even cooking.
Drain excess grease from beef.
Customize with different cheeses or sauces.
