Grilled Cheese Patty Melts

Ingredients

cheddar or Swiss cheese

butter

large onion
sliced

French fried onions

teaspoon
salt

teaspoon
black pepper
Instructions
Cook sliced onions in a skillet until caramelized and set aside.
Season ground beef with salt and pepper and form into patties.
Cook patties until browned and cooked through.
Butter one side of each bread slice.
Place bread butter-side down in a skillet and add cheese, beef patty, onions, and fried onions.
Top with another slice of cheese and bread, butter-side up.
Cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden and cheese is melted.
Serve hot.
Notes
Use medium heat for even cooking.
Drain excess grease from beef.
Customize with different cheeses or sauces.
