Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 10- or 12-inch round baking pan or cast-iron skillet. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. In a large bowl, cream softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips. Press dough evenly into prepared pan. Bake for 20–25 minutes until edges are golden brown and center is slightly soft. Let cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Do not overbake to maintain a gooey center. Spread dough evenly for uniform baking. Store covered at room temperature for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat slices briefly for extra softness.
