Instructions
Pat burrata dry with paper towels.
Prepare three bowls with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with salt and pepper.
Coat burrata in flour, dip in eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs. Repeat egg and breadcrumb coating for a thicker crust.
Place coated burrata in the refrigerator for 15 to 20 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan to 350°F. Fry burrata for 1 to 2 minutes until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
In another pan, heat olive oil and cook garlic until fragrant.
Add crushed tomatoes, red pepper flakes, salt, and sugar. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
Serve fried burrata over the spicy sauce and garnish with basil if desired.
Notes
Chill burrata before frying to prevent leaking.
Do not overcrowd the pan while frying.
Serve immediately for best texture.
