Easy Lahmacun

Easy Lahmacun Recipe with thin crispy flatbread and savory meat topping, a simple Turkish favorite made at home.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ lb ground beef or lamb
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 medium tomato finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • ¼ cup parsley chopped
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Mix flour, yeast, and salt in a bowl.
  • Add warm water and olive oil and form a dough.
  • Knead until smooth, then let rest for 1 hour.
  • Mix ground meat, onion, tomato, garlic, tomato paste, parsley, and spices.
  • Preheat oven to 475°F.
  • Divide dough and roll into thin circles.
  • Spread topping evenly over each piece.
  • Bake for 8–10 minutes until crisp.
  • Serve warm with lemon wedges.

Notes

Roll dough thin for best texture.
Do not overload topping.
Serve immediately for crispiness.
