Chocolate Snickerdoodles

Chocolate Snickerdoodles with rich cocoa flavor and cinnamon sugar coating, soft and chewy for a perfect homemade cookie.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ⅓ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar for coating
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon for coating

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt in a bowl.
  • In another bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Add egg and vanilla extract and mix well.
  • Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients to form dough.
  • Mix cinnamon and sugar in a separate bowl.
  • Scoop dough into balls and roll in cinnamon sugar.
  • Place on baking sheet with space between each cookie.
  • Bake for 10–11 minutes until edges are set.
  • Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring.

Notes

Do not overbake to keep cookies soft.
Chill dough if it feels too soft.
Use proper measurements for best texture.
