Vanilla Buttercream Frosting:

unsalted butter
softened

cups
powdered sugar

–3 tablespoons heavy cream or milk

teaspoon
vanilla extract

Edible glitter or shimmer dust

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F and grease two 9-inch round cake pans. Line bottoms with parchment paper.
Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Mix in vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients alternately with milk, mixing just until combined.
Divide batter evenly between pans.
Bake for 25–30 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Cool cakes completely before frosting.
Beat butter for frosting until smooth.
Gradually add powdered sugar, then vanilla and cream, beating until fluffy.
Frost cake layers and smooth sides and top.
Chill cake for 15–20 minutes.
Sprinkle edible glitter gently over frosting.
Slice and serve.
Notes
Only use glitter labeled edible. Add glitter just before serving for the best sparkle.
