Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds cod fillets
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 large lemon sliced and juiced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F and lightly grease a baking dish or line with parchment paper.
  • Place cod fillets in a single layer in the baking dish and pat dry.
  • Drizzle olive oil evenly over the cod.
  • Sprinkle garlic, salt, black pepper, and paprika over the fillets.
  • Arrange lemon slices on and around the fish.
  • Bake uncovered for 12–15 minutes until cod is opaque and flakes easily.
  • Remove from oven and squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top.
  • Garnish with parsley if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

Use thick fillets for best texture. Avoid overbaking to keep the cod moist and flaky.
