A super-simple way to get hidden bugs and dirt out of your cauliflower or broccoli without scrubbing or stressing.

What This Trick Does
The cold, salty water shocks out any tiny bugs hiding inside the florets.
They float to the top, and your veggies come out extra clean with almost no effort.
How to Use It
- Cut into big florets
Break or cut the cauliflower/broccoli into chunky pieces so water can reach the inner layers. - Fill a bowl with ice-cold water
Use the coldest water you can. Add a handful of ice cubes. - Add salt
Mix in 1 tablespoon of salt. It doesn’t need to fully dissolve. - Drop in the florets
Submerge them completely. - Wait 10–15 minutes
The cold shock + salt draws out tiny insects and loosens dirt.
You’ll literally see specks, bugs, and debris floating to the surface. - Remove the veggies
Lift the florets out (don’t pour you’ll dump the bugs back on them). - Rinse well
Give a quick rinse under running water. - Cook as usual
Your veggies are now super clean and ready for roasting, steaming, stir-frying, anything.
Extra Tips for Best Results
